#5 「お寺と神社の違い」

お寺と神社の違いとは。

初詣で、今回はじめて疑問に思いました。
自分が興味ある範囲を簡単にまとめると以下のようです。

＜お寺＞
宗教：仏教(僧の居場所)
発祥地：インド
（「寺」という言葉に関しては中国の役所の意が発端。）

＜神社＞
宗教：神道(神様をおまつり場所)
発祥地：日本
（仏教の伝来と共に神仏混淆の文化が作られ浸透したため、お寺に狛犬がいたり、お寺と神社が同じ敷地内に存在するという奇妙な形式をたどった。）
